Ubisoft has pushed out a new update today for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on Xbox Series S, bringing with it a brand new “Performance” mode that allows players to enjoy Eivor’s Viking adventures in 60FPS.
We’ve had a go of the game using the new update with Performance mode activated, and down below you can have a quick look at how it runs on Xbox Series S in 60FPS mode.
The graphics and resolution do take a hit in Performance mode, with the resolution often dropping below 1080p. Screen-tearing also makes an unwelcome return, but it’s rare and typically towards the top end of the screen, so even when it is there, you’re not likely to notice it. The game manages to hold the 60FPS line really well, even during hectic battle scenes, but there are some drops. However, they aren’t all that noticeable during the run of play and if you have a VRR-enabled TV set, you won’t notice a thing.
All in all, it’s a great update for Xbox Series S owners and further proof that the Series S really is worthy of being called a next-gen console.
